Dr Lucy Chantrey

Autism Parenting Consultancy & Training

Counselling & Psychotherapy

About me

I am a BACP accredited trauma informed EMDR and integrative psychotherapist with 15 years of clinical experience in counselling and psychotherapy, and 20 years lived experience of autism parenting. I work online and specialise in supporting parents and carers of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) before and after diagnosis. I offer a non-judgmental therapeutic space, informed by a deep understanding of the experiences of parents with neurodivergent children. My support is truly bespoke, addressing a wide range of challenges from school refusal to demand avoidance. I have extensive experience in supporting and advising parents around Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

I have worked therapeutically in the NHS, state, voluntary and private sectors with young autistic people and their families. â€‹

I also offer bespoke training and consultancy to individuals, charities, businesses and in educational settings.

My main area of research both at Masters and Doctoral level has been around the lived experiences of the parents of autistic girls.
